Rice 2 cups
Saffron (kesar) a pinch
Pistachios,chopped 20
Ghee 4 tablespoons
Green cardamoms 4
Cloves 4
Sugar 1/2 cup
Raisins 20
Milk 1/2 cup

Method  Method

Soak rice in four cups of water for half an hour. Drain.

Heat ghee in a pressure pan. Add green cardamoms, cloves and soaked rice and sauté.

Add three cups of water, sugar, raisins and chopped pistachios and mix.

Dissolve saffron in warm milk and add to the pan. When the rice is cooked a little, cover with the lid and cook on high heat till one whistle is given out.

Lower the heat and cook for ten minutes.


Open the lid and serve hot.
