Saffron is one of the oldest and priciest spice cultivated in Pampore and Kishtwar region of Jammu & Kashmir. It is believed that in ancient times some saints had gifted saffron bulbs to sow in the land of Pampore and Kishtwar. Hence J&K became one of the finest saffron producer in the world.
