Remembrance from the childhood of beating the heat with chilled homemade kesar almond lassi makes me still happy. I remember it used to be the hot months of May&June, when we use to return from school in the scorching sun, all drained and tired. What we could only think was of reaching home and have chilled water. But to our surprise we used to be welcomed with cold, creamy, yummy dry fruit and kashmiri kesar lassi made by momma! Sipping it while making a mustache due to the frothy lassi used to be so much fun.The lassi used to be so filling and cooling that we used to be energized for afternoon backyard play.At that time we never thought about the health benefits of each ingredient present in it. It was just a yummy cold liquid for us. But today when I am old enough to make my own glass of lassi for my dear family. I very closely choose the ingredient to be added in the lassi to get the amazing benefits. Mom during our childhood use to add crushed badam, saffron and sugar in the lassi.
